rome, from my eyes part 3

day 3 was dedicated to the coliseum...

this is the day i saw the traces of a great history i failed to grasp... the biblical history.  i saw the world more of from 1400 years ago since the birth of the prophet muhammad saw and my inner eyes was oblivious to what the world was more than 2000 years ago could have been.  it never occured what the world was during the BC and AD period....

through coliseum, i saw the barbaric world depicted in the movie Gladiator so real... through coliseum, i saw what shakespeare brought to me through his literary works... everything was so real.  hail caesar was so real.... hahahaha i am emotional about the past which is not so so good because it blinds my vision of the future...

many a times, we dismiss what our mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers had said and did and practiced.  we failed to benefit because of the technology world we are in and for  the lack in documentation and scientific explaination.  as far as i am concerned, everything has an explanation and uncovered truth which is actually our loss for failing to discover the logic behind everything.

the beauty of my day 3 in rome was that we walked and walked and never have i walked this much in life...

can you see parts of the ancient architecture behind the trees? what amazes me is the ability of the ancient people to come up with such... the architecture, the plan, the structured goverment and the civilisation in its entity... of course the good comes with the evil...

we walked and we were what you might have seen in the city on a working day in the city centre... foreign couples reading the maps in KL, deciding on how and where to go...

this was taken when we task of finding the route to coliseum has been completed...

real hot sun in the midst of early winter...

the ruins...

glimpse of the great roman forum... google and you would know what i meant...

this is the coliseum... the arena....

here we are...

visualise how it would have looked had it not been ruined by the years and centuries...

the coliseum was called amphitheatre...

duh!

if this had existed and been preserved, what does it tell about the period and its civilisation...

trading and business is nothing new... existed during the BC and AD period...

the history...

how it would have looked like in its glorious days...

where the cross is was where the christians were crusified...

overlooking the roman forum...

such a thing you might rarely see in malaysia... this lady sitting at the edge is trying to commit suicide...

this was where the government was in the days of the roman empire...

sigh... the lady caused so much drama...

yes, i kissed it.... i was in awe of the civilisation and lots more that i was ignorant of...

the drama continues....

i said goodbye... when i came out, it felt like i was back from a time machine that brought into the past...

the roman forum and its ruins....

this doesn't happen in my country and therefore i am blessed.... protest...

this never ends... memories and reminders of the past...

hail caesar...

the end of the past....

i hope the above would have interested you to further read on the history as presented in these links.... Please read this on the Coliseum. Please read this on the Roman Forum.

this is where the protesting mob heading to... the parliment where the prime minister was giving a speech...

i used to deal with this company while i was in my previous job...

we went back to the spanish steps because i did not toss a coin as i should have...

this street is the KLCC material...

woman and flowers inseperable....

the spanish steps...

hmmm... tea anyone?
 the twins...

this is the interesting part... when my husband asked me what else i wanted to see in Rome, i said i wanted to go to a mosque... we googled and apparently, the biggest mosque in europe is here in rome.  we took the train, looked for the place in what appeared to be in such a remote area... this path to the train station tells the story...

now, can you see the similarities between the following two pics?  both in the mosque and the one at the roman forum? what caught my attention is the inside of half dome shape that existed 2000 years ago is similar to the one in the pic below where the imam lead the prayers... not only i found in this here in rome but there are other mosques that has the similarity...

Please read this on Mosque of Rome
