vietnam

some months ago, my sister in law enticed me to go to vietnam for a shopping spree.... she had gone twice before this and i was so tempted to go since everything was so cheap. it was so close to eid and all the more reason i wanted to go. it worked out so well since my hubs were home for the weekend. my shopping spree was just the weekend...

this is my thought to capture my momentary emotions.
The literature in me follows me everywhere I go...I'm immersed in it...to me, literature is the appreciation n reflection of life through the eyes of the author. ... vietnam that I knew was through nam - tour of duty, Danielle Steel's message from nam, tony leung's bullet in the head n etc...as I sat by the street alone late night eating my noodles, my eyes slowly took in the sights of the life around me...a lil girl trying to persuade a passerby to buy her goods, a man going to the tourist one by one trying to grab their shoes off their feet offering shoe polish services, shopkeepers sitting in front of their shops chatting while stall owners along the street trying to make last sales for the day and some keeping away their goods for the day...life goes on till late night for these Vietnamese to make their living....this is the vietnam that I had always known....

there are many cab companies...

the hotel we stayed in... very different from those other hotels i have ever stayed but this is quite comfortable.

out on a shopping spree...

if you pay more for any of these in malaysia, it is a sin.

again....you know what i mean....

i was so impressed with the hand writing...reminds me of my days when i was a little girl when cursive writing in a convent school is much celebrated.

nice cosy muslim restaurant...

what i fished for the day...

this is crazy... zoom in and you see spider, scorpians and snakes...

acha maami

this is a post about someone whom my parents have known for more than 40 years....

that makes her someone i have known all my life... to my parents, she is a God's gift... to us, she is kala maami and she is like a grandmother to all of us.

she and her husband was like a family to my dad when he was alone in ipoh. then, he brought his newly wedded wife from india to malaysia to them. my parents' mothers were in india. she and her husband loved my parents and us like their own. she has a heart that can house the entire world. she is so lovingly towards everyone. my parents are special to her. she is to all of us.
