painting

it has been so long since my children did some painting... my children loves painting. i guess all children would.  ever since my maid left which was so so long ago and since i couldn't handle things well and i was afraid of the mess, we had put painting on hold..

i had always loved painting... though i don't paint like the great artists, it is just one of my passion.  i regret for not indulging into it all the years i was single with lots of time in hand. i should have enrolled in an art class for that matter.  well, self actualisation will come my way and insya Allah, i will do all that i wanted to do in life.

to cultivate the passion (which is good for them developmentally), i bought them poster colours, drawing blocks, a set of new painting brush.  when i was deciding whether to invest in water colours or poster colours, i reflected on those days when i was at school.  there were other chinese kids who painted so well using poster colours.  i never asked for one.  i know i would have gotten had i asked. i refrained from asking since it was more expensive.  this time, i got my children poster colours.  i really hope that my children will appreciate that mummy will not settle for anything less for mummy's children.

one of the weekends, i googled on how to teach children to paint.  apparently, we must also teach them the rules in painting.... dadadadada and you must rinse your brush when you want to change colours, etc., etc.

i decided to teach them how to paint a tree.  mummy was the teacher.  i painted and i told them to observe me and paint.  i loved their output.  if i was a psychologist, i would have analysed their painting... nadia nasira is a conformist to how a tree should look like while nashwan nasr had his own view, a little bit more creative, i suppose, i don't know.

these are my little painters...
